is a festival celebrated by the Muslims with great enthusiasm and zeal, all over the world. It is their great religious festival. There are two Eids celebrated by the Muslims, one is Eid ul Fitr celebrated after Ramadan and second is Eid ul Azha, celebrated for remembering the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim. The difference between them is that Eid ul Fitr is celebrated after Ramadan and Eid ul Azha is celebrated for following the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim but both are enjoyed and celebrated by Muslims in the same manner.
Before Eid-ul Fitr, Muslims observe fasts for a full month after sighting the moon of Ramadan. When the Muslims completes their fasting during Ramadan and the month is over, after sighting Eid Moon, fasting is ended. The first day after Ramadan is called Eid ul Fitr, which is celebrated by the Muslims. It comes off on the first day of the month of Shawwal. This day, Muslims throughout the world becomes very happy, enjoy, thus the day is called day of happiness, festivity and feasting.

There is no doubt in the facts that fasting in the month of Ramadan soul and prayers are purified. Allah will give its great reward at the time of Day of Judgment, which is opening of doors of Jannah (Heaven) for Muslims. As Muslims observe fasts, offer regular prayers in the form of Namaz, recite Holy Quran, help the needy people and feed the hungry people, they celebrate on the Eid Day and continue these noble aims after Eid ul Fitr. The sight of the new son of Eid is considered very pious and holy by the Muslims. It is a signal for the celebration of Eid the very next day.
On the day of Eid people get up early in the morning. They take bath and put on their best or new dresses. They visit mosques and offer prayers for two rakats as thanks to God. After completing eid prayer and dua, they exchange greetings to each other, by embracing one another. Eid Mubarak is on the lips of each Muslim. After returning to their homes after offering Eid Prayer, sweet dishes and gifts are offered by Muslims to their family members, relative’s grinds and guests. Old peoples or the head of the families give money to younger’s as Eidi.
They invite each other on lunch/dinners and feasts. Sweet noodles (Sewian) are the common and most popular dish cooked on this day in each Muslim home. Girls and women visit their neighbors and relatives wearing charming new cloths. Children buy toys and sweets.
Eid celebration promotes national integration and the feeling of brotherhood and one nation. At this day any angry person is also excused and shared eid greetings with him. Joys are doubled when they are shared. The main message behind Eid celebration is brotherhood for all of us. Eid is a festival of love and good will. It teaches us that we should love each other and negate hat to anyone. It also give lessen to start new life full of happiness by following the nice principles of Islam, orders of Allah and Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), share love to all, hate for none and to remove jealousy, enmity and promote love, sympathy and brotherhood.
